Divorce turns ugly as Lebo M’s wife demands R150 000 spousal maintenance and other funds

The divorce battle has turned ugly between Lion King composer Lebo M, real name Lebohang Morake, and his estranged wife, Pretty Samuels.According to a local publication, Samuels has a list of financial demands that she has tabled at the Johannesburg High Court.


 

 

 

 
One of Samuels’ demands us allegedly R150 000 in monthly spousal maintenance. The month allegedly includes R23 000 for a car instalment, R5 000 for cellphone, R35 000 for rent or bond, R10 000 per month for holiday allowance, and R6 500 for groceries.Samuels also wants division of the estate, which includes a R5.5 million property in Pearls of Umhlanga as well as a R1.8 million property in Cedar Acres, Sandton. In addition, she is demanding R2 million from him to cover her legal costs for their pending divorce.In August last year, Lebo M claimed that he was calling off their wedding because Samuels refused to sign an affidavid confirming that she had not opened any life cover policies in his name.

However, speaking to Zimoja, Samuels denied that they were divorcing. She told the publication that she is not aware they are getting divorced or that they are separated.“I don’t know anything about the separation, even now I am busy running errands with the kids,” she said, referring to Lebo M’s children as they don’t have any children together.“These are news to me,” she added.

The couple was only married for 18 months before their messy separation. According to a statement by the producer earlier this week, he claimed to have found muthi “tucked away” in Samuels’ closet.
“We were packing her stuff very nicely so that when she is ready to come collect her belongings she can pick them up,” the producer said.

At the time, a source who spoke to ZiMoja said that pink and blue cleansing salts, called iziwasho, among other traditional medicines.
“Pink salts, blue salts, and some stuff that you put under your tongue and mouth – according to instructions,” said the source.

On a tree on the west wing of the home, Lebo M’s assistant and helper allegedly found isibopho – which, according to reality TV star and sangoma Gogo Skhotheni, is used to bind the relationship so it never ends.

The publication adds that the show has invested in a team of exciting and young creatives to revive the soapie.
