Hungani Ndlovu’s dance moves, who plays the new Tbose Maputla.

Viewers of Skeem Saam reacted to a video of actor Hungani Ndlovu’s dancing (who plays Tbose Maputla) in a TikTok video that was shared on Twitter on Friday, 7 July

The former Scandal! actor Hungani Ndlovu, who took over the role of Thabo ‘Tbose’ Maputla in Skeem Saam is also dancer whose videos are often shared on social media.

A fan @danny_dungi from the show shared a video of Ndlovu dancing and tweeted: “This Tbos yena banna Aowa, even the dance is English” (Ths Tbose’s dancing is even in English).

Fans of the educational soapie have been comparing Ndlovu’s performance with Cornet Mamabolo’s who both portrayed the character of Tbose Maputla.

While some viewers have decided to give the actor a chance, others are not impressed with his performance and feel that he’s too different from the first Tbose.

The first critique came after his first interaction with his older brother Leeto (Eric Macheru), where he greeted him in English and compared his interaction to the previous Tbose, who spoke Sepedi ninety percent of the time.

@kholoNdaba tweeted: “I lost it when he saw Leeto and he said “Hey bro” bathong (wow)! What happened “bhuti Leeto” maybe ke overseas re tla reng (maybe it’s an overseas thing).”

Fans of the soapie also realise that the new Tbose mixes Sepedi with English and concluded that this may have been done on purpose as the latest character was overseas and spoke English a lot more than the previous.@luyathedreama: “You’ll get used to him and like him.”

@danny_dungi: “No he must go back USA.”

@king_loosh: “Bona at this point I’m even willing to drive him to the airport okay??i want him gone!!”

@LoveMandy4: “Did you fast forward video ya ngwanemong?”

@Queeny_Thato: “If you listen to this with no sound, you’d swear a different genre was playing.”

@Jassmine____M: “For a minute I thought he was listening to some hip hop song hence the dance.. he keeps disappointing me.”
