‘A big hole in my chest’: Lynn Forbes grieves AKA

AKA was fatally shot on Florida Road along with his long-term friend Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane six months ago. Lynn has been documenting her grief on her feed and keeping the rapper’s name alive as his murderer has not been captured.

In a heartfelt post, Lynn explained that she felt as though she had a big hole in her heart and said the pain of losing her son will never go away.

“I’ve always believed that my heart was big and spacious with many rooms, to accommodate many people. These days I often feel like where my heart used to be there is just a big hole in my chest, without space even for myself,” she wrote.”

“Grief is not something you get over, it never ends. You just learn to live with it and grow around it. And in the moments when it feels like the band-aid is being ripped off the healing wound, you start all over again … until the next time and the next time and the next time,” Lynn added.

MORE ABOUT AKA’S MOM’S GRIEF
Fortunately for her, Lynn has surrounded herself with a strong support system. She shared that they just know how to be there for her during this difficult time.

“I’m ok with not being ok, not being a strong woman, and ok leaning on those who allow me to grieve on my own terms, while holding my hand and quietly walking beside me as I find my way,” Lynn said.

“I accept that grief is an element of who I am now, that it has altered my entire being forever, and that I don’t have to get to the other side of it. It is what it is,” she added..

In the meantime, Lynn has launched a podcast called the Outspoken Owls. It aims to reframe what it means to navigate life as a middle-aged woman, TshisaLIVE reported.

Thando Thabethe responds to R5m surgery lawsuit against her

This follows a R5 million lawsuit against her and her friend and TV producer Tumi Maimela which was filed by Vivari Aesthetics, as reported by Sunday World on Sunday, 20 August.

Speaking to The Citizen, The 947 radio host said that the matter is with her legal team and they are the ones looking into the dispute over the alleged unpaid surgery bill.

R5 MILLION LAWSUIT
Sunday World reported that Maimela, whose company Redwood Productions is behind Thabethe’s reality show titled Unstoppable Thabooty, wrote to the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) following their near-death experiences after surgeries conducted by Vivari Aesthetics.

According to the lawsuit by the cosmetic surgery clinic, Thabethe and Maimela went under the knife in exchange for airtime and marketing on Unstoppable Thabooty on BET Africa, DStv channel 129.

The clinic said that it agreed to perform a 360 liposuction surgery worth over R180 000 on Thabethe and a 360 liposuction, mastopexy, and Brazilian Butt Lift, worth over R340 000, on Maimela. However, Vivari claims that the pair did not give it airtime in the reality show, neither were the bills settled as they reportedly only received R100 000 from Thabethe and Maimela.

In Maimela’s complaint, which was partly dismissed by the HPCSA, she said the surgeries were conducted on 25 November 2022 and took longer than they were told they would. She also claimed that the clinic was under-equipped, lacked post-surgical care and was not in good standing to operate patients.

According to the letter, Vivari Aesthetics was negligent, as Thabethe reportedly bled profusely after undergoing liposuction.

“I was in the room when my friend was bleeding and it looked like a little waterfalls of blood gushing out of her. This was extremely traumatic for me to witness. She needed me. That is when Dr Anushka said that Vivari is not a hospital. If I had known it was not a hospital I wouldn’t have [undergone the procedures},” she said.

“Top tier actor in South Africa can earn between R150k and R200k per month. Unfortunately, in South Africa, experience still trumps role prominence.”
