Dr Nandipha Magudumana finally decides to seek bail

Dr Nandipha Magudumana is set to present her bail application at the Bloemfontein magistrates court on Tuesday.

This comes after she had initially decided against applying for bail earlier this year after she was arrested in Tanzania.

Magudumana found herself at the epicenter of the Thabo Bester prison escape after she was alleged to have played a huge role in that escape.

Bester grabbed global newspaper headlines after he achieved the daring feat of escaping from Mangaung prison.

It is reported that he faked his own death and several people were arrested in connection with this case.

Magudumana is set to present her bail application on Tuesday.

In other news, Shaun Donnachie, 43, said though it was intrigue that pushed him into the waters, the challenge went relatively smoothly.

“If you are hit by too many it can cause issues, which has led numerous swimmers in previous years to abort their swims [due] to the cumulative venom build-up in the body.”

The North Channel is notorious for its unpredictable currents and the sheer distance that stretches the limits of human endurance.

However, Donnachie said it was precisely these challenges that made the endeavour worth pursuing.

Donnachie said he also wanted people to witness his journey either in person or in the media — so that they could see that limitations were often self-imposed and that with the right mindset, barriers could be broken.

“I decided to embark on this challenge to show my son and friends that any Average Joe can achieve big dreams through dedication and consistency.

“I hope to ignite a spark of inspiration in others, urging them to pursue their own aspirations, no matter how audacious they might seem,” he said.

Donnachie said he had a big support system which included Old Kingswood College alumni Justin Smith and Paul Beevers.

Eish! Steve Harvey struggles to shake wife’s cheating rumours

It’s been quite a week for American media personality Steve Harvey who has been trending on multiple social media platforms. Hundreds — if not thousands — of posts about his marriage have been shared online after rumours started swirling that his wife Marjorie had cheated on him with their private chef. Steve — who is a seasoned motivational speaker and talk show host — has faced ridicule from social media users who wondered how he “struggled to keep his wife happy”.

In what appears to be an attempt to clear these rumours, Steve has not only continued sharing sage advice online, he has also posted his wife a number of times.“Before I get started, just let me say, I’m fine. Marjorie’s fine,” he says in the video which was posted on TikTok.

“I don’t know what y’all doing, but find something else to do ’cause we fine. Lord have mercy. Man, ‘I ain’t got no time for rumors and gossip. God’s been good to me, I’m still shining.”

Despite this, people continue to mock Steve who is famous for his relationship advice mostly directed at women.

ANOTHER ATTEMPT?
In what would appear to be an attempt to get people to stop the gossip, he has continued to share a number of positive posts.

His latest is a tweet about Marjories best fashion moments. He captioned the tweet, “Is it any surprise that I wake up grateful and happy every day?”

“I know, I have a big nose. Stop reminding me.” Makhadzi

Prominent South African singer and performer Makhadzi made waves on social media when she addressed body shamers in a candid and powerful statement on Facebook. The artist, known for her hit songs and dynamic stage presence, took to the platform yesterday, Sunday, August 27, 2023, to voice her frustrations.

In a heartfelt post, Makhadzi addressed the issue head-on: “I know I have a big nose. Stop reminding me. All I said was, I am dropping the album next week Friday. Only that.” Her words struck a chord with her followers, as they resonated with the experiences of countless individuals who have been subjected to hurtful comments about their appearance.

The singer didn’t stop there. She followed up with another post that demonstrated her determination to stand up against body shaming. “Tomorrow, I’m going to cut my nose, so that when I talk about my album, no one will have something to say about my looks.” This comment highlights the extent to which negative comments can impact individuals, leading them to consider drastic measures to shield themselves from criticism.

The incident has brought to light the disturbing trend of body shaming on social media platforms. Makhadzi’s brave stance shines a spotlight on the need for more empathy and kindness in online interactions. Her willingness to address the issue openly has sparked conversations about the responsibility that social media users bear in promoting a positive and respectful digital environment.

Makhadzi’s message resonates not only with her fans but with anyone who has encountered hurtful remarks online. The incident also emphasizes the significance of mental health and well-being in the age of digital communication, as negative comments can have lasting effects on individuals’ self-esteem and mental state.

As Makhadzi’s posts continue to circulate and gather attention, they serve as a reminder that everyone deserves respect, regardless of their appearance. The incident invites individuals to reflect on their online behavior and encourages a collective effort to create a more compassionate and supportive online community.
