Some said she was seeking sympathy as she went on to cry in the court.

South Africans on Twitter continued arguing whether Dr Nandipha was praying or reminiscing.

Zimbabwean dancehall chanter Wallace Chirumiko – affectionately known as Winky D, is making headlines after he performed for 80 minutes while South African star Makhadzi was forced to perform for 10 minutes.

Zimbabwean singer Jah Prayzah performed for 30 minutes after his slot was changed at the recently held Africa Music Festival UK.

Winky D topped trends after Makhadzi took to social media to express her disappointment and sabotage while taking a swipe at the dancehall chanter.

In the backdrop of her social media posts, thousands of Zimbabweans flooded into Makhadzi’s comments section with trolls after they felt she was addressing the wrong person.

Because of the backlash, Makhadzi was forced to delete all the social media posts she mentioned Winky D. In the backdrop of the incident, many have been trying to connect the dots about Winky D.

Winky D is dubbed the ‘Bob Marley of Africa’ because of his dancehall songs that challenge the status quo. He was born on 1 February 1983 in the high-density suburbs of Kambuzuma, Harare, Zimbabwe.

He started off his career as a Disk Jockey at the age of 16. The now-celebrated chanter won several DJing competitions, and this saw him earning the name ‘Wicked Deejay’, which has since been shortened to Winky D.

In the backdrop of his newfound fame, he switched to music and has become one of the most celebrated Zimbabwean singers.

AWARDS WOES AND BEING BANNED ON AIRWAVES
Over the years, he has released at least five albums, reportedly banned on local radio stations. He is said to be an agent of regime change and has since been excluded from local and national awards.

However, he has won big thanks to his international recognition, which has seen him winning several regional and global awards.

He has closely worked with his brother Trevor Chirumiko, best known as Layaan MuSoulja, as one of his producers. Despite being one of Zimbabwe’s most prominent figures, little is known about Winky D’s family.

Winky D has kept his private life under wraps, leaving many to guess. Despite having his shot to fame decades ago, no one knows where he stays except those close to him.

Little is known about his wife, but he once hogged headlines when he revealed his son publicly. With an illustrious career spanning years, he has won several accolades and has a cabinet to show for it.

South African South African artist Rasta The Artist — real name Lebani Thaka David Sirenje — has become quite popular over the years. This is because his portraits — which are usually tributes to local legends — have a way of making people laugh. He has once again left many tickled pink after he shared a portrait of legendary South African comedian Trevor Noah.

Taking to his Twitter page, he dedicated the post to Trevor. Those in the comment section couldn’t help but chuckle after spotting the post.

 

 

In recent years, South African artist Rasta has gained himself a solid reputation as one of the most unique artists the country has to offer.

This is because his one of a kind portraits don’t always look like those he has painted.

Despite this, he continues to paint legendary South Africans — and sometimes famous people from around the world.

His latest painting is none other than SA comedian Trevor Noah.

Taking to Twitter, he shared photos of himself and the portrait of the comedian which he captioned, “Welcome Trevor Noah Comedy Tour, background Artist Pigcasso da pig Artist in Franschoek Capetown”.

SA Rugby boss Mark Alexander has passed on his condolences to the family and friends of former Springbok loose forward Botha Rossouw, who sadly passed away due to a pulmonary embolism in the early hours on Tuesday.Rossouw, 53, played for the Leopards, Vodacom Bulls and SWD Eagles and was selected as a member of the Springbok tour squad to Europe at the end of 1992 – the first Bok tour since re-admission to international rugby – while still playing rugby at North West University.

 

 

 

 

After playing for the Leopards – then still called Western Transvaal – Rossouw moved to Pretoria to play for the Vodacom Bulls and he concluded his career in South Africa with the Eagles in George. He played his last provincial game for SWD in 1998, also played in France and went into business his playing days.

On the Bok tour of France and England, Rossouw played in two midweek matches before he picked up and injury, and he was replaced in the squad by FC Smit.

Confirmation of Rossouw’s passing comes a just a week after the death of another former Springbok, Theuns Stofberg who tragically died in a card accident in Stellenbosch.

WHAT SA RUGBY BOSS HAD TO SAY ON SPRINGBOK’S PASSING
“Botha was a very versatile and good sportsman, who not only excelled in rugby, but also in track and field athletics as a young man,” said Mr Alexander.

“His talent on the rugby field was underlined when he was chosen for the Springbok tour squad when still a student in Potchefstroom, playing with a number of guys who went on to win the Rugby World Cup in 1995.

“Botha died at a young age and our thoughts and condolences are with his daughter Rochelle, other family and friends in this very difficult time.”
