Dramatic Finale Unveils Tensions in Uthando NeSthembu

Last year’s finale of the hit show ‘Uthando NeSthembu’ brought an unexpected dose of drama to viewers’ screens. Musa, the show’s central figure with multiple wives, called a family meeting to discuss a significant event – the launch of his book, ‘HOW I MADE MY FIRST MILLION.’ However, the gathering took an unexpe

cted turn as he delved into other pressing marital issues.

Musa candidly expressed his grievances, revealing that when his wives were upset with him, they withheld intimacy as a form of punishment. Some even went as far as denying him food and temporarily leaving for their ancestral homes in the village. He expressed disapproval of their habit of wearing tight-fitting clothing, such as track pants, which he considered inappropriate for married women.
Frustrated by their behavior, Musa sternly warned that if his wives did not change their ways, he would consider seeking assistance from their respective families to resolve their issues. In response, his wives reacted with laughter and questioned why he did not address his concerns directly with the individuals involved. MaCele, however, came to Musa’s defense, explaining that he was addressing these matters collectively because individual attempts had failed.

During their diary sessions, the wives dismissed the idea of Musa seeking help from their families, making him feel insignificant and deeply hurt. He left the meeting before it concluded, with MaYeni labeling him a coward. Seeking guidance from MaCele, MaMgwabe inquired about whom to approach if she struggled to resolve her issues with Musa.In response, MaKhumalo suggested that the four wives should strive to get along better to support one another, while MaCele asserted that she managed to resolve her problems with Musa without external assistance.

Mixed Reactions Persist for ‘Gogo Skhotheni’ Reality Show

In the world of reality TV, discussions on social media often explode after viewers tune in to their favorite shows. One such show, ‘Gogo Skhotheni,’ has had its fair share of attention, with six episodes already under its belt. However, despite the passage of time, it appears that not much has changed since the premiere.

Viewers have consistently commented on the show’s storyline, with some suggesting that it feels scripted. This sentiment has been echoed after each episode, and it’s beginning to cast doubt on the show’s future, as fans appear dissatisfied

The central focus of the show has revolved around Tumi’s decision to take on a second husband, an unconventional choice that has left many scratching their heads. In the latest episode, Tumi held a meeting with both her husband, Monde, and her boyfriend, Sbusiso, informing them that they would become “brother husbands.” In this unique arrangement, Tumi would take the role of the family’s head.Tumi explained that she was following the wishes of her male ancestor by taking two husbands, a move that left viewers perplexed. The discussion even delved into the topic of lobola, with Tumi wanting to pay lobola for her boyfriend. Shockingly, after the marriage, her boyfriend would take on the responsibilities typically assigned to a bride, including house chores, which stirred controversy on social media.

Many people expressed their discomfort with this unconventional arrangement, citing its departure from South African norms. Some viewers even voiced their preference for the return of ‘Isencane Lengane,’ considering it a more engaging reality show. Despite any dislike for Siyacela on that show, viewers appreciated its authenticity and felt that it lacked the scripted feel they perceive in ‘Gogo Skhotheni.’

t’s the return of witty clapback’s, fashionable lateness and more.

The Real Housewives of Lagos – which follows Nigeria’s most affluent and influential women – is set to return for its second installment on 29 September 2023 after a successful first season. Being the first Real Housewives franchise in Nigeria, the series brought opulence, drama and lots of eyebrow raising moments.

Gracing our screens in the second season will be the OGs – Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, celebrity designer and stylist Toyin Lawani Adebayo, and socialites and businesswomen Chioma Ikokwu, Laura Ikeji-Kanu and Mariam Timmer, as well as two newcomers, fashion entrepreneur Tania Omotayo and socialite Faith Morey.

Though the new ladies have been in front of the camera before, this will be their reality TV debut.

Tania, 32, in a statement said, “I joined The Real Housewives of Lagos because my life is so public but not because I shared anything, simply based on assumptions. This was an opportunity for me to step out of my comfort zone to share a bit of my life and challenge myself with something new.”

Former basketball player turned supermodel Faith, speaking on taking a leap of faith, says she’s a private person but always had a desire to have an experience like this. “I also wanted to meet fellow hard-working ladies. And of course, the franchise needed a touch of Faith Morey,” she says in the statement.

With the highly anticipated second season, let’s recap on some eyebrow raising moments from the first season.1. Chioma and Laura
The messy situation between ‘friends’.

The drama between the Good Hair businesswoman and Laura started in the first episode, at Toyin’s daughter’s product launch after Chioma referred to Laura as a “client” and not a friend, which the reality TV co-star took offence to that. It was the fuel to the fire of arguments on the show.

2. It’s not drama if Laura isn’t involved
Just as we thought the ladies could get along, Carolyna had underlying beef involving Laura’s sister, Linda Ikeji, who is a blogger in Nigeria. It is alleged that she [Linda] wrote some undignified blogs about Carolyna’s life. Even though this situation didn’t directly involve Laura, she did promise that she’d speak to her sister to take down the stories Carolyna had complained about.

3. The good boss
Whether partaking in petty arguments with the ladies or arriving fashionably late, Chioma is a good boss at heart. Leaving tears in our eyes the businesswoman presented her employee with a prosthetic arm.

The Brass & Copper and Good Hair boss presented Jeffery, one of her bartenders who lost his arm in a bus accident, with a prosthetic arm.

Not only that but the show gave us insight into Chioma’s interaction with her staff.

4. Toyin loathes lack of punctuality
There are many moments on the show where some ladies don’t respect time. One is Laura who arrived “fashionably late” to Toyin’s daughter’s product launch.

Another late coming was when Chioma took the ladies to Abuja for a luxury getaway and there was drama between Toyin and Carolyna at the airport over lateness. At the reunion Carolyna had the ladies’ side-eyeing her when she arrived after everyone was sat and the show was already in progress.

5. Rumours
What’s a reality show without a bit of ‘he said, she said’? We know this is how rumors spread like veld fire. It was rumoured that Laura was allegedly getting pimped to a certain Nigerian governor. This stemmed after Carolyna made an accusation that Laura had been pimped to a Nigerian governor.

At the show reunion, Laura revealed that after the episode aired, she got calls for her in-laws and her village looking to find out what exactly had happened. But Carolyna, stood by what she said.
