On the hit Showmax series, the award winning actress Zikhona Sodlaka demonstrated her remarkable talent and versatility. Her captivating performance in The Wife has not only garnered praise from audiences and critics alike but also solidified her status as a leading figure in the South African entertainment industry.

The Wife, which follows the story of eight Zulu brothers who are formidable criminals, is an adaptation from the series of books by South African author Dudu Busani-Dube. The best selling book inspired the seasons of the show namely, Hlomu, the wife, Zandile, the resolute, and Naledi, his love, respectively. Mandisa was wife to Nqoba Zulu, played by Abdul Khoza, who also did a stellar job.

Zikhona is now being recognized for her work on the series in a major way. She has just been nominated at the upcoming National Film & TV Awards. Zikhona will be battling it out in the Best Actress in A TV Series category. She is up against Kgomotso Christopher, Tsholofelo Matshaba, Michelle Botes, Elizabeth Serunye, Khabonina Qubeka, Cindy Swanepoel, Connie Ferguson, Rosemary Zimu, Gail Mabalane and Thando Thabethe.

Zikhona is also battling it out in the Outstanding Performance 2023, for her performance in The Wife. The likes of Enhle Mbali and Nomzamo Mbathat are in the same category. She also bagged herself a nomination in the Celebrity Personality of the Year category. Names in this category include Bonang Matheba, Minnie Dlamini, Nadia Nakai, Katlego Maboe, Lasizwe and so many others.
