This is Why Pretty Samuels filed protection order against Lebo M

Lebo M and Pretty Samuels-Morake’s divorce battle seems to be getting messier and messier. This is after the businesswoman headed to the Randburg magistrate’s court last month to file a protection order against the Grammy award-winning producer – real name Lebohang Morake – for allegedly abusing her emotionally, verbally, financially and psychologically – Sunday World reports. The publication reports that the protection order is to prohibit Lebo M from intimidating and threatening his estranged wife.[He should also refrain] from degrading behaviour, offensive behaviour and humiliating behaviour,” reads the application. The order is to also prohibit the Lion King composer from preventing Samuels from entering their home and from “spreading fake news to assassinate her reputation.”

This comes after Lebo M told Samuels to vacate their home in Waterfall Estate, north of Joburg, and also denied her access to the gated estate. The house in question is a rented house paid for by Prime Media, and my husband is just the main registered tenant.“I’m advised it is an act of domestic violence for my husband to kick me out of the house like this and am asking for the court to protect me from the abuse I am suffering,” reads the application. The couple was only married for 18 months before their messy separation. According to a statement by the producer earlier this week, he claimed to have found muthi “tucked away” in Samuels’ closet.
“We were packing her stuff very nicely so that when she is ready to come collect her belongings she can pick them up,” the producer said. In August, Lebo M claimed that he was calling off their wedding because Samuels refused to sign an affidavid confirming that she had not opened any life cover policies in his name.

Makhadzi’s entrance at Phalaphala Royal Heritage Festival Leaves Mzansi Talking

Makhadzi stole all attention at her Royal Garden’s show with a dramatic entrance. When it comes to concerts or shows, entrance is a vital part of it; some artists spend millions just to have their audience’s jaws drop due to their entrance.Over the years, we’ve witnessed both international and national artists make headlines over their entrance at shows; in South Africa, the likes of Cassper Nyovest and Pabi Cooper trended and made headlines because of it.

The Ma Gear hitmaker attempted to be part of history with her entrance, but while we might tag it a success, we could also say it wasn’t smooth.Makhadzi gave the bird-like entrance, as she was suspended up in the sky with a rope above the crowd till she got to the stage, however, it seemed like she was stuck just before she landed on the stage.

Some viewers poked fun at the entrance, while others urged her team to do better. Well tried , unprofessional, i give it 60%…. Lights must go off when she lands we don’t want to see people who are hesitating to untie her. She seems to be delayed in getting down,” a comment read.

A thrilling fantasy version of The Suit

The premiere was attended by the likes of Nthati Moshesh, Harriet Manamela, Mmabatho Mogomotsi, Sello Molefe and Lindani Nkosi, among others.

The show is adapted from a short story by highly respected South Africa scribe Can Temba. Unlike the original The Suit, this reimagined feminist version comes with beautiful music played by an orchestra, and digital technology to transport the audience back to the old days through photographs and images.

The Suit Concer-tized is a painful love story of a young couple in Sophiatown whose marriage is rocked by infidelity. The wife, Matilda, a violinist, composer and leader of an orchestra, abandons her first love, music, to marry Philemon. At the time of quitting music, Matilda had been seeing someone in her band but it was not a serious relationship.

The long and short of it is that Matilda reconnects with her old flame, choir member Thozamile (played by Brian Temba).

Philemon then catches Matilda and Thozamile in bed and as Thozamile runs away, he leaves behind his suit – hence the name of the production.

For her sins, Matilda is subjected to painful punishment by her husband. Philemon forces her to treat the suit left behind as a human being – calling it a “fellow”. As they walk around the streets of Sophiatown, people see Matilda carrying the suit.

Apart from being the story of a troubled young couple, the show revisits a painful Apartheid period when people were forcefully removed from Sophiatown and moved to Meadowlands in November 1959. Sophiatown, the home of many great writers and jazz musicians, is portrayed in the story as a lively place where good and bad alike happen. Unlike the original production of The Suit, Mothobi Motloatsi’s fantasy version starts with the white wedding of Matilda and Philemon.

With the seasoned Job Kubatsi involved, the pint-sized actor brings much humour, which is balanced by Alistair Dube. The theme of Sophiatown’s troubles is perfectly illustrated through music and costume design.

If you are up for some great acting, The Suit Concer-tized continues at Joburg Theatre until September 24. Tickets range from R260 to R500.
