Uzalo Drops Seasoned Actor Jet Novuka The SABC 1 show is shaking things up

Post main imageThere was a lot of excitement surrounding Jet Novuka’s role in SABC 1’s primetime hit soapie Uzalo, after it was announced that he will be the latest talent to join the show, but now it is reported that he is exiting the show.

According to Phil Mphela’s Entertainment Alert, the actor who plays Captain Yamkela Mpambani, a fierce and no-nonsense taking cop. has been written off, as Uzalo continues to take extreme measures to ensure that it delivers an impeccable storyline to the viewers.The show has been shaking things up with new characters joining the show and others exiting lately. It was recently reported that former Uzalo actors including Khaya Dladla, TK Dlamini, Nay Maps, as well as Nokuthula Mabika, will be making their big return this year.

“I’m not sure when I’m going to appear on TV, but we have agreed to come back to Uzalo. I’m preparing to be on set soon,” Khaya told Daily Sun.

Uzalo’s storyline has been the talk of the town lately with many people boycotting to watch the show’s “boring storyline.” Recently the SABC 1 announced a 3-year agreement with the famed Stained Glass production. It is the first time that such a long-term arrangement has been put in place and it represents an unequivocal vote of confidence the channel places in Mzansi’s best-performing soapie by far.

“Uzalo has earned it and its performance speaks for itself. The property has broken a set of records in the industry for a soapie or a long-running drama series. It’s the youngest entry in the SABC stable and it is phenomenal what the property has managed to achieve despite the challenges this year has shown not only in the broadcasting landscape but the country as a whole. ” said Sane Zondi – SABC 1’s Programmes Manager.
This year Baby Cele also left the show, Siyabonga Shibe who plays Qhabanga is exiting Uzalo. He recently posted a very cryptic message on Instagram, “I Am excited about the future and to go back to my family. They are awaiting for my arrival after a 4-year journey. I miss being at my house and do house chores taking care of my woman and son, and rest for few days. Then back at it after. The future is bright.”

He is also one of the country’s highest-earning tv and radio personalities.

Robert had dreams of becoming a lawyer and signed up for a law degree at Wits University in 1992.

But fate had other plans for the star.

Here’s a look at Robert Marawa’s biography.

Robert Marawa was born on March 1, 1973. He turned 48 years old in 2021. He grew up in KwaZulu-Natal’s Vryheid community. Robert Marawa has two sisters – Vanessa Marawa, who gained fame on Survivor SA, and Gugu Marawa, who has also made a name for herself in the sports industry.

Robert’s father, Frank Marawa, died in 2016. He told the Sunday Times in a 2018 interview that he learned a lot about fatherhood from his dad.

“It was always important in the time that I was with him … to really extract as much as I could from him, see him as that role model, that leader, that father … I’ve never spent December anywhere else but home … So the whole essence of family is what he was all about, that’s what he espoused, that’s what I hope to kind of carry on because it is important,” Robert said.

Robert has described his mother, Phumlile Marawa, as a strong woman. He particularly admired her strength after the passing of his father.

“My father passed away in front of us… At the ward, I held my father’s left hand and Vanessa held his right hand. My mom said dad has passed away and we must accept it. She removed the oxygen and thanked the nurses for caring for my father That moment was hard, that my dad was gone but my mom was very strong and comforted us,” he told The Sunday Tribune.

Robert Marawa’s got his big career break in 1996. He landed a job as a continuity presenter on SABC 1. One year later, he ventured into sports broadcasting and so began his rise to the top on the industry.

Robert presented a football show called Laduma on Topsport. He covered the 1998 Fifa World Cup for the show and impressed viewers with his football knowledge.

Robert has also hosted Soccerzone, Blow by Blow and several soccer shows on SuperSport.

He has made a name for himself in the radio industry as well. Robert hosted Discovery Sports Centre and Sports @6 on Metro FM.

Pearl Modiadie, others react to SA moving to level 1 lockdown. President

Many have taken to their social media to share their view following the announcement President Cyril Ramaphosa made concerning the lockdown.The president mentioned in his family meeting that the country’s lockdown has been eased to level 1.

Although, some regulations are still in place but there is progress as things are beginning to get back to normal.

The changes in regulations include the lifting of all remaining prohibitions on the sale of alcohol other than during curfew and political gatherings, and the easing of the curfew by an hour.

“The return to alert level 1 means that most of the remaining restrictions on economic activity have been removed. We expect this to lead to higher consumption spending, bolstered by the steady recovery in employment,” Ramaphosa said.

Pearl Modiadie on the other hand worried that the easing of regulations may lead to a third while others felt it is a way forward as they advices people to continue to following the Covid-19 rules.

Yesterday, President Cyril Ramaphosa announced lockdown as been moved to level 1.

Taking to social media, Shimza told his fans to keep their masks on even though we’re on Level 1.

The DJ mentioned that the people need to be careful as they are still fighting fighting Covid-19 and people should continue adhering to regulations.

Taking to Twitter, the DJ encouraged Mzansi to continue staying safe.

He posted pictures of himself wearing a mask and captioned his post: “Level 1, keep your masks on!”
