Sello Maake Ka-Ncube joins Skeem Saam as Ntate Kganyago

Sello Maake Ka-Ncube joins Skeem Saam as Ntate Kganyago. He has been dupped as the godfather of small screens. With an illustrious career spanning years, he has managed to wow, Mzansi with his unmatched acting flair. From making all sorts of headlines with his lead role on Generations as Archie Moroka to nailing his Kgosi character on The Queen. However, in the mix of things, he has also wowed Mzansi and the world at large with his on-screen characters as Mufasa in the production of The Lion King and Shakespeare’s Othello.

Well, it seems as if the drama series is not holding back. However, the International celebrated actor is topping trends after it was revealed that he would be joining Skeem Saam. He will be gracing the streets of Turfloop as Ntate Kganyago on Skeem Saam.

The actor has since confirmed his latest gig in the mix of things. Confirmed reports say he has since joined the drama series set and has been part of the shooting. No doubt Mzansi awaits his much-talked-about debut that is slated for 11 October.

“Every character is different on each show. You are venturing into exploring different circumstances of a different persona that you take on. It depicts a different human condition from the one you played in the previous show and is always exciting. And I am happy to be still getting work,” he says.

“Another great thing is that some characteristics that are dormant in me may be dominant in that of a character I play, allowing me to explore different personalities.”

However, in the mix of things, he has been involved in several fallouts with showrunners, including Connie Ferguson of Ferguson Films. In 2019, Vatiswa Ndara fired shots at The Fergusons for ill-treatment and unprofessional conduct, especially on The Queen. While other actors such as Keke Mphuti and Mara Louw also joined in the bursts, no one thought Sello would also drop a bombshell. He accused her long-time partner Connie Ferguson and Ferguson Films of underpaying him and owing him a substantial amount of money.

As part of his tell it, the actor shared with us how he landed his role on the show as he sang praises for the show’s producer.

Lukhona Mpopoma is a familiar face on Durban Gen as he joined the cast a few months ago in a mountain scene where his brother was injured playing Ntando. The two were helped by Dr Zulu, played by Mike Ndlangamandla, and a paramedic Thembinator played by Sibongokuhle Nkosi. They were flown off by a helicopter to get medical attention before the medical practitioners went to attend Sne and Dr Dhlomo’s wedding.

Lukhona sent a Self Tape and got a call back after two days with the news that he would be playing the role of Ntando. However, when he got to the set, the showrunners changed his position from Ntando to the leading character of Lindo, who is Dr Zulu’s son.

“I’m happy to see women happy, dating, in love [and] kumnandi and they want a rich guy. There are men who are told to look for specific girls to steal your shine, to steal certain things from you,” she started off.
She said there are people who come into your lives and things fall apart all because they are stealing from you spiritually.

“There are people you date and your life just becomes upside down, but because he gives you money, you don’t want to leave that relationship. When you sleep with him you get cramps, you’re no longer a good person at work, your friends no longer get along with you, your family is upside down because they are stealing from you spiritually,” she continued.
