Actor Eric Macheru known for his role as Leeto on the soapie Skeem Saam shares five things his fans don’t know about him.

Eric Macheru is a South African actor who currently plays the role of Leeto Maputla in SABC 1 soapie Skeem Saam. He is also a soccer star who has played for Tottenham Hotspurs, Ajax CapeTown, and many more clubs. In Skeem Saam, he is a successful lawyer, but is he that successful in real life? Eric was born on 25 February 1986 at Botlokwa, Polokwane, in the Limpopo province. He is 37years old as of 2023. He then grew up in a township called Seshego with both of his parents and his three brothers. Sadly, one of his brothers passed away in 2007.
Macheru Eric attended Kuschke agricultural high school. After high school, he began acting, which was fascinating enough for him; therefore, he equipped himself with a degree in film from AFDA. Aiming to do more than just read a script in front of a camera, Eric Macheru is currently busy studying multimedia at AFDA. He says he decided to add multimedia to his film degree as it will help him move into his passion which is advertising and communication.
Leeto was a professional soccer player for several years before he got a career-ending injury. He reached the height of his career when he won the SABC 1 reality competition Sokka Kings in 2005 and was then allowed to train for a week overseas with the English Premiership club Tottenham Hotspur. Throughout his career, he got a one-year contract with Highlands Cape Town and a sports management contract. Eric’s career ended while he was playing for Ajax Cape Town.
Eric Macheru made his most crucial career debut in 2012 Mzansi Magic telenovela’s iNkaba. He played the role of Rick, a top model on Fumi’s level described as “the Tyson Beckford of iNkaba world”. Afterwards, he landed a role on Mfolozi street season 1, playing the role of Msindo. In addition, Eric Macheru appeared on Zaziwa season 4 before being cast on Skeem Saam as Leeto Maputla❤️💞✅
