Gail Mabalane, wife of actor Kabelo Mabalane, recently opened up about her experience with alopecia in recognition of September’s designation as Alopecia Universal Awareness Month.
GAIL MABALANE Discloses Her Mental Illness
Gail Mabalane, star of Blood & Water, posted a message of encouragement for women with alopecia on her Instagram account in September, which she noted is Alopecia Universal Awareness Month.
Hair loss from the scalp and other areas occurs in some people with alopecia, although the condition is equally common among women, reports Sunday World.
I hope that anyone dealing with hair loss might take comfort in knowing they are not alone in their experience. I understand that there will be many feelings to process after going through this. They make us stronger if we push through difficulties, she wrote.
The former star of The Wild said she first saw her hair thinning and thinning out in the center of her head and on her scalp three years ago.
Due to her mental illness, she was motivated to launch the Ethnogenics hair line and team up with Clicks.
CLUES TO ALOPECIA
Additionally, the mother of three offered some words of wisdom to the female and male alopecia community:
In the event that you or someone you know is experiencing mental health issues, Mabalane suggests not waiting.
You shouldn’t put off seeing a dermatologist, as prompt treatment may stop hair loss from happening.
She also suggests products that help with the regeneration process.
Finding “your people” can be an arduous or rewarding experience.
We can’t do this in secrecy, so we need to track down the donors.
Take care of your head and hair. Many cases of hair thinning can be attributed to deliberate actions.
Our hair is a part of who we are, but we are more than just our hair, despite what mainstream culture would have us believe.
