African Music Fanatics Mourn South African Multi Award Winning Musician
African music fanatics Saturday took to social media to mourn the passing of multi-award-winning musician, Kiernan Forbes, popularly known by his name AKA.


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

South African police officials and family members of the 35-year-old musician said he was shot outside a restaurant in the southeastern city of Durban.
β€œIt is with extreme sadness that we acknowledge the passing of our beloved son,” wrote his parents Tony and Lynn Forbes in a statement published on AKA’s social media accounts.
β€œOur son was loved, and he gave love in return,” added the statement.
Ahead of his passing, AKA won multiple South African awards and was nominated several times for a Black Entertainment Television Award in the United States and for an MTV Europe Music Award.
The 35-year-old was set to release his latest album titled β€œMass Country” on February 25th.
