Crown Chasers host Zozi Tunzi surprised her Instagram followers this week when she removed her Miss SA title from her account after unfollowing the pageant.
This is after she ditched the pageant finale on Sunday, 13 August, where Natasha Joubert was crowned Miss SA 2023.
Zimoja reported on Friday, 11 August that Tunzi was expected to fit her wardrobe costs for the pageant reality TV show Crown Chasers.
The show was presented by TV personality Bonang Matheba, former Miss Universe Zozibini, and actress Leandie du Randt.
A source from the show also revealed to the publication that a well-known fashion stylist who was commissioned by the show to style Zozi was told at the last minute that he won’t be getting paid by Miss SA and was told to invoice Zozi directly.
“That was not part of our agreement. I was working as a stylist for the show, I was not brought in by Zozi and now I am being asked to invoice her.”
EXCLUDED FROM MISS SA POSTER?
Fans of celebrity blog, Maphepha Ndaba on Instagram also asked why Zozi Tunzi was excluded in the Miss SA 2023 finale poster.
The poster shows Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters who won in 2017, Tamaryn Green who won in 2018, Shudufhadzo Musida who won in 2020, Lalela Mswane who won in 2021, and Ndavi Nokeri who won in 2022.
Miss SA revealed to The South African in a statement: “Zozibini Tunzi is an in-demand personality with a full schedule. Other than that, the Miss South Africa Organisation cannot speak to Ms Tunzi’s calendar nor her social media activity. However, she is always welcomed and celebrated at any Miss South Africa event.”
“The Miss South Africa Organisation entered into a comprehensive contract with Ms Tunzi and her management in respect of her services for Crown Chasers and she has been paid in full accordingly. We hope that any issues her wardrobe suppliers may be having with her management in this regard are resolved soonest”.
