Reality star and dancer, Zodwa Wabantu has evolved from a socialite to a businesswoman and has now become a politician.
The star shocked her followers on her social media accounts when she announced that she’s just joined Kenny Kunene’s political party called Patriotic Alliance (PA) in JHB on the 31st of JanuaryThis is what she said convinced her to join the party:
“I’m happy. This is my new home. The good thing is that I will have a voice. I thought thoroughly before I considered taking this road of politics as it is sometimes rough. Being a politician and joining PA is a dream come true. I feel at home and at peace.
I was convinced this is the only political that is relevant in South Africa in this day and age. The party’s commitment to the upliftment of communities is what impressed me most. Remember I’m a township girl and I spend a lot of time in the kasi. It breaks my heart to see the misery that people in kasi go through despite them voting in every election. Most people fear change, but why cling to a political party that has done nothing for you and has demonstrated that its leaders come first not the people.”
Zodwa also recently took to social media to announce that she’s expanding her horizons in the beauty industry and the poultry business.
The star said she’s opted to sell eggs and live chickens from her tour bus since she won’t be able to entertain her fans due to the pandemic.
She’s also gathered a string of property development businesses, the cosmetic range, perfumes, lipstick and petroleum jelly and she’ll be opening a beauty salon in Mpumalanga this year.
Zodwa’s change in lifestyle and attitude is due to the entertainment industry feeling the pinch due to the pandemic and she’s being forced to look elsewhere to secure the bag.
The star went as far as requesting her fans to suggest which areas she should start with her poultry business since she moved Johannesburg.
Her fans thought that she’s being humorous at first and started taking her seriously when the media personality posted a video with the caption: “Leaving Home to Sell Chickens and Eggs
They also got convinced when Zodwa’s other media personalities friends such as Kelly Khumalo posted snaps on Instagram buying her ‘Zodwa Wabantu eggs’ and supporting her business.
