Zahara’s memorial service at her hometown today, funeral Saturday

A second memorial service of the late South African award-winning singer and songwriter Zahara – real name Bulelwa Mkutukana will be taking place on Friday, 22 December in ELICC (East London International Convention Center, Eastern Cape) at 11:00 am. This comes after her first memorial service that took place in Johannesburg on Thursday, 14 December at the Rhema Bible Church in Randburg.


 

 

 

RIP: ZAHARA’S MEMORIAL SERVICE TODAY!
The slain Loliwe hitmaker died in a hospital in Johannesburg on Monday, 11 December “surrounded by family and loved ones.” She passed away after suffering from a short illness allegedly linked to liver problems. Her funeral will take place tomorrow (23, December) at the ELICC (East London International Convention Center, Eastern Cape) at 10:00 am, a day after her second memorial service which takes place today.

Taking to her Instagram feed, Zahara’s fans were invited to the memorial.

“Please join us as we celebrate and bid farewell to the life of an icon, Zahara,” a message on her feed read.The late 36-year-old singer was best known for iconic hit songs, Ndiza, Phendula, Destiny, and more. Zahara’s body arrived in a white casket East London last week, Saturday. Zahara’s sisters Lumka and Bandezwa Mkutukana are said to be struggling to come to terms with the death of the award-winning singer, TshisaLIVE reported. Speaking with the publication, the duo was quoted as saying: “Her departure to us is as if we’re dreaming. We still can’t believe it. We’ve been robbed of something precious to us. We feel like she’ll just make a call to tell us how life’s going in the country she has visited.
