Bulelwa “Zahara Mkutukana deserves congratulations when her partner asked for her hand in marriage.

In front of her close family and friends on Friday afternoon at her Johannesburg home, the singer’s six-month lover, engineer Mpho Xaba, proposed to her.

 

 

 

“I’m content. I’m eager. I cherish him. Because the first time I told him I loved him, it was the truth, it was simple for me to say yes to him.

Zahara’s fiancé and his PA set up a surprise engagement, which saw them convince the singer to glam-up for a podcast interview, only for her to arrive back home to a house full of flower petals and balloons on which was written “Marry me”.

Zahara has made three propositions.

After almost five years together, the singer called off her engagement to her ex-fiance, radio host Amaza Ntshanga of Umhlobo Wenene FM.

The singer apparently got engaged to Ian Sibiya once more in 2019, but their union likewise ended quickly.

Zahara admits she was hesitant when she first started dating her current fiancé because she noticed he was intimidated by her because of her fame. They first met through a friend who dropped by her home during a family braai.

Yet, the couple started talking about getting married pretty early on.

“Yes I was shocked by the fact that it hasn’t been long. I did not expect him to ask me to marry him so soon, because it’s still new for him to propose. It’s just that I said he would take long to say, ‘I’m going to marry you,’ but he said it from the very beginning. So [when he asked] I did not hesitate because I love him”
