“Your absence is deep”, Lesedi remembers her late step father Shona Ferguson

Death is such a horrible thing, it takes away the joy and it is something that your heart can never get used to it.The death of media mogul Shona Ferguson affected his step daughter Lesedi in a way we did not expect because he was not her biological father, but to Lesedi Shona was a father figure.

It is rare to find step parents having this kind of bond with their children. Many children are not really loved by their step parents, it is just a matter of accepting the situation. Shona was a rare breed, South Africa was blessed indeed.

Last month on this date, 30th of July, Shona Ferguson died, after being admitted in and out of hospital. He was famous for his role in the entertainment industry as an actor and as a producer. He was married with two children, Alicia Angel Ferguson and step daughter Lesedi Matsunyane-Ferguson. His wife Connie poured her heart out on how Shona changed her life when she had given up on love.

Today, it marks a month since he died, and to his family it still feels like yesterday. Lesedi revealed it on a Facebook post. She wrote, ” A month ago, today still feels as fresh as the day we heard the news, it still doesn’t make any sense, I wish it did but i know you are with us. Your absence is deep but your spiritual presence is felt deeper, I miss you, I love you”.

It couldn’t be expressed better than she did. Losing a loved one is painful, and one ugly thing about pain is that there is no due date, you don’t know when it will go away, you just keep hoping for better days to come. Her fans took to the comments section to sympathize with her, comforting her in all ways. “God is good all the time, even in bad times he is still God”. May Shona’s soul continue to rest in peace.
