South African actress Winnie Ntshaba has bagged may acting roles in her time in the industry but some may argue that she will forever be remembered for her iconic role as Khethiwe Buthelezi in Generations. Where is she now?


 

KwaZulu-Natal-born actress Winnie Ntshaba proved that she was indeed the best candidate for the job when she was cast as Khethiwe Buthelezi in Generations.
“I remember borrowing a friend’s suit and going to auditions in Durban… I was desperate. In 2005 the Khethiwe Buthelezi role came up and I gave it my all. The producers told me they were giving me three months to prove myself,” SowetanLIVE quoted her as saying.

Ntshaba is a BA Drama Honours graduate from which she obtained from the University of Natal in 1997, TVSA reported. She’s said to have also attended the North West Arts Council in the late 90s
In 2000 she moved to Johannesburg and participated in educational and industrial theater shows for AREPP Shoe string Productions.
Ntshaba got cast as a support actress in the 2004 film Yesterday with Leleti Khumalo,this was her major film gig, she received positive reviews for her role.
By 2004, she was already featured in a local television drama named Jozi Streets and has since starred in Russician Service Lethal Force, Shreds and Dreams, Mzansi Magic’s The Road telenovela, and more.
In 2013 ,Ntshaba launched a soapie award ceremony called the Royalty Soapie Awards. The first ceremony took place at the Durban International Convention Centre on 2 November 2013.
In 2017 Ntsaba made appearances on Mzansi magic “The Road”,and MTV’s Shuga.
In 2018, After a three-year hiatus from the screen, Ntshaba returned on TV,as the lead character on Mzansi Magic hit drama The herd, she played the role of Mam’Ngadi.She has a role on Isithembiso as Mam’Lihle Palesa’s mom.
Earlier this year, she shared photos of several iconic actors who were cast in Generations over the years as she reflected on where it all started for her as she looked forward to her future.
“Where it all began for me…. There’s no turning back, upwards and forward only!!
GENERATIONS ✨🌟,” she captioned.
Winnie Ntshaba is currently working in Bombo Productions’ House of Zwide drama alongside former Generations actor Vusi Kunene who played Jack Mabaso in the soap opera. Recently, she celebrated her son Phenyo who turned 14 in July and gushed over him on her social media.
“My boy, your beautiful heart is something out of this crazy and cruel world I pray that God shields it daily from the harsh world we live in,” she penned on her feed.
Just week prior to that, she was spotted at a Mercedes-Benz car dealership picking up her band new black four-door luxurious car.
