Why is my name dragged to Thabo ‘Bexter’ “, Mamkhize leaves many in stitches

Business mogul and Mzansi celebrity, Mamkhize has responded to claims that she visited Thabo Bester in prison. Here response comes after News24 Journalist Karyn Maughan reported that there are women who used to visit Thabo Bester at Mangaung Correctional Centre. Karyn Maughan says among the women was a female celebrity who is well-known and have been on TV. People quickly jumped into conclusions that the celebrity is Mamkhize.

However, the TV personality says People should leave her name out of the Thabo Bester saga. “How is my name dragged into Thabo Bexter? Please people, leave me out of this Thabo Bexter story and just go buy my book”, Mamkhize said. It’s how Mamkhize referred to Thabo Bester as Bexter that left so many people laughing.

@Nkosinathiangwa Mamkhize says she knows nothing about “Thabo Bexter” as she is being allegedly implicated of helping Bester to escape. ‘Kuningi and it’s getting kuningier’.

@ThusiMphahlele She doesn’t even know him. I am sure she didn’t get to jail and say I want to see Thabo Bexter, so she doesn’t know anything.

In my opinion, Mamkhize doesn’t have any relations with Thabo Bester. The poor woman can’t even pronounce Thabo Bester’s surname properly.

Meanwhile, Karyn Maughan says the women that News24 has spoken to said they visited Thabo Bester AFTER he pretended to be Tom Motsepe and tried to woo them or talk them into deals. They said they visited him after they found out who he was (sometimes by him telling them). The reason why they visited him is because they wanted to confront him. Many of these women have spoken about the shame and embarrassment they felt after discovering they’d been . They felt stupid and wanted to put the experience behind them. The women say they felt ashamed to report what happened to them.

Karyn Maughan we need to be careful about condemning people who visited him or were taken in by him. “Victim blaming may prevent people from coming forward. And then he wins”, she says.
