In 2005, Thuli Sithole was crowned Miss SA by Claudia Henkel (Miss SA 2004). Avumile Qongqo of Cape Town was the first princess and Matapa Maila of Pretoria, the second princess. At the time of her crowing, she was studying engineering at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits).

“My career ambition is to complete my studies and create awareness of women in the construction industry. I aim to be a businesswoman who will use her skills in construction to better my country and empower youth and women in various sectors, such as social and economic development,” she said to IOL in 2006.

She went on to marry Swati Prince Cedza Dlamini. Together Thuli and the Prince welcomed two children. However, in an interview with Afternoon Express, she revealed that she went into a rut and relationship woes with Prince Dlamini.
