Siphelele Mashwama (19), the daughter of a Swaziland Cabinet Minister, was chosen as the King’s 15th wife as the most beautiful of them all.

Thousands of unmarried and childless women and girls go from all across the country to Ludzidzini for the eight-day event, during which would-be brides are publicly questioned about their

King Mswati 3 assumed the throne of Eswatini in 1986. As is customary in his domain, he is permitted to marry a large number of brides from diverse clans. He has married a total of 15 women, two of whom have died and two of whom have abandoned him.
