Where did South African girl band Jamali disappear to?

JamaliJamali placed second in the Coca-Cola Popstars singing competition in 2004, which has since been discontinued. The boy band Ghetto Lingo won first place, and the group came in second. Three women made up the girl group, which was formed by competitors who first appeared as solo acts.

The group consisted of Liesl Penniken, Jacqui Carpede, and Mariechan. They worked on their musical careers together for 16 years before breaking up. In order to pursue their solo music careers in 2019, the three parted ways. The first two letters of the names of the three members were combined to form Jamali.

The girl group gave us timeless hits like “Love me for me” and “Greatest Love.” The three have been scheduled to perform at a Women’s Day event on August 6th, three years after their split. Fans are now wondering what the group has been up to for all this time.
Jacqui Carpede

After going solo, Jacqui started a lucrative career in music on her own and appeared in a number of musical productions, including Extreme, The Wiz, Razzle Dazzle, and others. She has also demonstrated her acting talent by securing a number of roles in shows including City Ses’la, Mzansi Love, Binnelanders, and many others. She enjoys spending time with her kid and family and is also a mother. She recently published the single “Don’t Let Go,” which she has been pushing on social media.
Mariechan Luiters

Marie has succeeded in making a name for herself as a musician, much like her other former colleagues. The singer last year released singles like “Just call me Marie Jane” before collaborating with her partner Many World Star on the tune “Pressure,” a love song. In addition to her music career, Marie is an Instagram influencer who often posts trending content and bares her body.
Liesl Penniken

Last but not least, Liesl has been collaborating with gospel singer Benjamin Dube, leading her followers to believe she is a gospel musician. That is not the case, however, as she is an artist who enjoys working on anything she finds inspiring and does not like to confine herself to a particular genre. She has worked with up-and-coming talent as a vocal coach on Idols SA. Her social media posts demonstrate her focus on her family as she frequently posts images of them.
