We made peace’: Mampintsha’s sister on Babes Wodumo

Mampintsha’s sister, Pinky opened up about losing her brother and mother and gave an update on her relationship with Babes Wodumo.South African Kwaito star Mampintsha—real name Mandla Maphumulo died on 24 December 2022 after suffering a fatal stroke at Durdoc Hospital. Three weeks after his passing, his mom Zamanguni Gumede also passed away. Mampintsha’s sister Pinky Gumede recently sat down with ZiMoja and shared how life has been since the passing of her brother and mother and also gave an update on her relationship with her sister-in-law Gqom Queen, Babes Wodumo.

 

 

 

 

Mampintsha’s sister Pinky Gumede has since spoken out on her life after the passing of her mother and brother, and relationship with his wife Babes Wodumo–real name Bongekile Simelane according to a report by ZiMoja. She explained that her brother and mother were just like two peas in a pod. Since they passed away, Pinky misses her brother’s humour and her mother’s undeniable love and support.

It’s no secret that when Mampintsha and Zamanguni were still alive, Pinky and her mother were not close to the Kwaito star’s wife. In fact, their relationship was at odds all the way through until Mampintsha’s funeral when all was forgiven in front of the world. However, after the funeral, Babes Wodumo found herself on the other side of the fence again with her in-laws when she returned to performing soon after her husband’s death.

But now, Pinky has shared that she and the Wololo hitmaker have put everything to bed and are back in a good space again.

“We are all just healing in our spaces, but we have made peace. She will always be my sister-in-law. I am just working on healing and moving on from the two deaths. They came at a time when I didn’t expect them at all ” she said to Zimoja.On 18 July, Babes Wodumo mourned her late husband on his first birthday. Just two days before, she expressed that she was finding it difficult to pen her son, Sponge a birthday message as it was a bittersweet moment to wish him a happy birthday without Mampintsha being around to celebrate it with.

“Kuthathe sikhathi [It took time] to write something for you cause I’m in mixed emotions namhlanje [today]. It’s your birthday today a part of me misses ubaba wakho [your dad] because I know for sure this day was his favourite day… On this day, both our lives changed forever.
