A humorous vintage video of Khaya Dladla acting as GC and having a drunken breakdown in church was shared by Dawn Thandeka King on Uzalo. Before we knew it as what it is today, Uzalo appeared entirely different a few years ago. The cast was varied, as were the plots.
Dawn Thandeka King and Khaya Dladla, who portrayed GC, the flamboyant comic figure who often got him into trouble, were both cast members. Many of the original cast members of the series were still a part of the plot when the episode where GC causes a storm in church aired in August of 2017.
With his relationship with JoJo having ended, GC was going through a tough time and had reached his lowest point. He began vigorously pounding the bottle, which caused damage to his salon as well.
Everything wears on GC, and in one of the episodes, he interrupts a church service, which causes mayhem. Pastor Mdletshe, Mamlambo, and everyone else there are irritated when GC enters the church chanting and making noise.
Mamlambo tries to control the situation, but she sets him off, and he calls everyone who dares to speak out as well as her out for her transgressions. Since that program aired on the SABC channel in 2017, everyone has been raving about Khaya Dladla’s performance in this sequence, which has since become legendary.
Fans and even his coworkers have praised Khaya’s portrayal of GC as one of the best things to ever occur. Dawn Thandeka King praised Khaya while sharing this video on her social media platforms.
You’ve always been my hero, Khaya Dladla, and I adore your art.
On Sunday, this video received 82 thousand views on Instagram. Winnie Ntshaba, Nompilo Maphumulo, the actor who portrays Nosipho on the show, and even the singer Brian Temba all commented, calling the performance classic.
Khaya also wrote to Dawn, expressing his gratitude for the positive feedback on his performance.
Wow, baby…
He added a pair of heart emojis and said, “I’m very humbled.
Many Uzalo viewers discussed how the program has changed and no longer features humorous moments like this. When the original cast members left the show, many felt that the show had lost a lot of value. Some people simply accepted the need for change.
