One of the main characters in SABC 1’s most popular telenovela, Uzalo, is Fikile. Nelisa Mchunu plays the role. Nelisa’s fans agree with her that she has a beautiful face, and she’s right. Her looks are undoubtedly more appealing to some Uzalo fans than her acting abilities, and that’s understandable.

She and her siblings were raised by a single mother in Wartburg, KwaZulu-Natal province. When Nelisa was four years old, her father died, leaving her solely dependent on her mother for her upbringing.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 
When Nelisa was a child, she experienced her share of trials. When she was in eighth grade, her mother’s financial woes led her to move in with her grandma. She recalls it as one of the most trying periods of her life.

“It was quite difficult to adapt to the new environment.” Just to make it to school on time, I woke up at 4:30am every morning. When I was used to having my mom drop me off and pick me up, I was forced to use public transportation. In order for me to reach home on time, I had to cease participating in sports.
