Uthando Nes’thembu receives SAFTA “best structured soap reality show” nomination

Uthando Nes’thembu is the show that kick started the Mseleku family’s popularity. They first appeared on our screens many years ago and have since formed a part of our favourite viewing. The show gives us a sometimes too real glance at what being a polygamist is like.

We get to watch Musa Mseleku interacting with his wives.

This show is popular across social media platforms and I suspect for most people it is a guilty pleasure. You get to watch the man, whose become the polygamist cheerleader, being thoroughly embarrassed by his wives each week. It certainly amuses me, it is likely his comeuppance for his controversial show, Mnakwethu.

Busisiwe “MaCele”, Nokukhanya “Mayeni”, Thobile “MaKhumalo” and Mbali “MaNgwabe” are the foundation this show is built upon. Their relationship with one another is often frayed. This makes sense to any onlooker, sharing a husband can be a contemptuous task to bear.

Perhaps this is the reason why they earned the nod from the SAFTA’s. They are up against DJ Zinhle for her show on BET AFRICA, The Unexpected, and Pastor Wants A Wife which is also on Mzansi Magic. It is stiff competition and it will be interesting to see who walks away with the win when the SAFTA’s finally happen.
