Uthando Nes’thembu has finally returned for its sixth season! This means we get to watch Musa Mseleku and his wives; MaCele, MaYeni, MaKhumalo and MaNgwabe as they navigate polygamy. If you’re a fan you’ll know that the family is always struggling with unifying properly
One of the obstacles to this appears to be Mbali Ngwabe.
Mbali is the fourth wife in the Mseleku household and has two young daughters with her husband. The conflict they have had throughout the seasons has been Musa’s desire to have yet ANOTHER wife. It looks like tensions are still quite high as her perspective on this has not changed at all.
This time, we got to meet the woman who raised Mbali and she is a simple woman, with simple words. She told her child that she would never force her to stay in a marriage she wasn’t happy in. This doesn’t outright imply that Mbali must leave, but it does put the idea out there as an option.
Here is what people had to say about Mbali and her mothers advise.
One viewer wrote, “Wise words from the Mom, “if you are no longer happy in love” I won’t force you to stay in your marriage #UthandoNesthembu”
While another viewer wrote, “Can we Appreciate this Mother we need many like her,she not saying to her daughter MaNgwabe she must hold on in her marriage but showing her support and love to do what best suits her She the best adviser #UthandoNesthembu”
A final user wrote, “Mangwabe is still in denial that she is in a polygamous marriage, she thought it will always be about her. Your man is a ladies man #Uthandonesthembu”
Joining a polygamous family can’t be very easy to do. You have ladies in there who likely don’t want you to join them at all. There is always an air of contention. But Mbali walked into this with both eyes open. Can we truly feel bad for her?
