The sad news was confirmed by a family spokesperson, Mabefu Henama, who revealed that the actor had been unwell for the past few weeks and eventually succumbed to his ailments on Wednesday at Clairwood Hospital in Durban.
Hailing from KwaNdengezi and aged 47, Xolani made a significant impact on the screen through his portrayal of a patient in Durban Gen, adding to his extensive acting career. Notably, he collaborated with Baby Cele, Bonga Dlamini, Mondli Ngcobo, and others in Jerry Pooe’s 1976: The Musical. His repertoire also included performances in the musicals Chief Albert Luthuli-Let My People Go and King Cetshwayo.
A memorial service to honor Xolani will take place on Wednesday at 1 pm at the Playhouse, Durban. Mabefu shared that the final farewell service and burial will be held on Saturday at 10 am at the Mondlo cemetery in Vryheid.In this time of grief, our thoughts and condolences go out to Xolani’s family and friends.
