Ukhozi FM Presenter Search Competition Making A Comeback

‘Winnie Mahlangu female Presenter Search’, a competition that gives upcoming presenters an opportunity to learn more about this career field on Ukhozi FM.
 

This competition was named after Winnie Mahlangu who was the first black female radio presenter to be hired by the SABC in 1962, and she has also worked for Radio Bantu which is now known as Ukhozi FM.

Zama Mseleku became last year’s winner among 4000 other competitors who auditioned. Zama is currently hosting a morning show that plays every Sundays morning from 3 to 9 am. Ukhozi FM manager Sbongi Ngcobo is the one who confirmed the news about this competition making a return this year. Entries are allowed from 23rd July up until the 26th. From the 27th of July, judges would start judging entries and choose three people every week for four weeks. And these are the people that would be voted for by the listeners. The winner is expected to be announced by the end of August.

Ukhozi FM would be celebrating Zamambo Mkhize who was a manager at this station next month. She went on and became a manager at SABC before going on retirement. in October, which is a month where they only play South African music. This station would be celebrating the life of the late Welcome ‘Bhodloza’ Nzimande worked as a presenter and later became a manager at this station.
