Sandiles’ passing comes shortly after the country is still reeling following the passing of respected singer Dr. Sibongile Khumalo. The award-winning singer passed on after a short illness.
Khumalo was a celebrated singer who was bestowed with the Order of Ikhamanga in Silver, for her contribution to arts and culture in the musical fields of jazz and opera and made a significant impact on South Africa and the world through her passion for music.
Messages of condolences have been pouring in and actress and singer, Mara Louw also expressed how shook she was after learning about her passing, βI thought why is this happening? I was just shocked. It is difficult when you hear such news. Even words of condolences don’t seem to have meaning anymore. It is just a shock. Whenever you hear the phone ring, you fear the worst.β
