Tributes continue to pour in after the death of Maskandi musician, his wife revealed cause of death

Many sad tributes from local singers after the passing of the guitarist who was the core of Maskandi music, Maghude “ayeqana” Mkhize from KwaMaphumulo in KwaZulu Natal, who died in the early hours of Saturday. He played the bass guitar for many of the country’s most respected singers. He died at Charlotte Maxeke Hospital, Johannesburg, after a short illness. His wife Mrs Mariah Mkhize spoke to the source said that his illness started last week with swelling in his feet but he said that there was no pain.


 

Mrs Mkhize said that his condition did not indicate that it was not enough to die. “Suddenly, he had trouble breathing, and he could no longer speak. “The doctor said that when suffered a stroke years ago, his heart and kidneys were affected and diabetes was his disease, and then everything came together and it depressed him,” said Mrs Mkhize. I

Maqhude fell in one of the gas stations in March 2020 in Johannesburg, suffered a stroke and was taken to hospital. Shobeni Khuzwayo of Zingane Zoma, admired Made’s shaqhude sharpness in his skill. He says that the knowledge he had was very helpful to many artists. “I think that maskandi artists chose to work with him almost all because he was open in terms of the knowledge he had in music, he didn’t hold back. “His mind is incredibly quick,” said Shobeni.
