Amapiano Artist Killer Kau Laid to Rest, Family and Friends Pay Their Final Respects

On Sunday, August 15, family and friends came together to bid farewell to amapiano musician Sakhile “Killer Kau” Makhubu, who tragically lost his life in a car accident on August 7, 2021.During the funeral service, Killer Kau’s uncle, Remember Khumalo, shared the family’s deep sorrow, revealing that the young amapiano sensation’s mother and brother had also met untimely deaths in fatal car accidents.

He expressed his bewilderment at the tragic cycle repeating within the family, saying, “What hurts me the most is how Sakhile’s mother passed away. It was terrible. It happened again when his brother died in an accident. I thought they would try to break the cycle so it doesn’t happen again in the family. Today, we are seeing it again. Why it keeps happening in the family, I don’t know.”

Killer Kau’s eldest sister, Gugulethu, described her brother’s passing as the most challenging experience she had ever endured. She highlighted how he embraced life to the fullest, living each day as if it were his last. Gugulethu also expressed her pride in her brother’s remarkable achievements during his short life.
