d update regarding Giyani Wimpy which has shut down as a result of non payment of rent . It was alleged that the outlet had not been paying rent for the past six months , although it was operational . As a result , an order was issued by the Sheriff for the Wimpy outlet to vacate Masingita Mall , in Limpopo .

 

 

 

 

 
This is a bad development for a brand such as Wimpy . Having to be kicked out for the alleged non-payment of rent is a bad development for the brand and its customers . It is a disheartening development for the employees who were attached to the institution .It is hard to imagine what will be happening onwards to the workers . It is January , where most people in South Africa go through some financial challenges . However , not having a job in January is disheartening and difficult to imagine how the employees will manage .

The alleged closure of the store is not a good thing for the customers who love the brand . There is no explanation on what may have led the outlet not to pay rent in the last six months as claimed in the report . However , the brand should have embarked on other ways of ensuring that it was able to still afford to pay rent .

Still moving on , this alleged development shows how some businesses in South Africa are struggling to cope as a result of the economic conditions . There is need for the government to be of assistance to companies which struggle to operate . The reason for the alleged non-payment of rent may not be known , but this paints a picture of a big brand that has failed its customers and the employees .
