As a parent Lucy is really having a tough time. Mbali is too rebellious and does not want to listen. So the only way Lucy sees fit is to always accompany her to the holy house in order to make sure she is safe.

 
Lucy is doing this because she understands that Mbali is passing through stage. Many young people passing through adolescent stage tend to be rebellious and stubborn. So letting her be is not an option because she might end up in danger. And she can’t let that happen because she will be held accountable because she is the one who adopted her.

People on social media also reflected on this. Some say accompanying Mbali is a nice move Lucy makes because she can’t just sit and watch her get into trouble without doing nothing as a parent. While others say Lucy should just leave Mbali because she is just ungrateful and even disrespects her grandmother while they are doing so much for her.
