On Thursday, the whole world learnt with great sadness about the untimely death of the Queen of Britain, Queen Elizabeth. Queen Elizabeth was the Queen of Britain for over 70 years.
As one would expect, many people across the world paid their tributes to the Queen. And one such person who has joined countless people across the world in paying tribute to Queen Elizabeth is the former South African finance minister, Tito Mboweni. Tito Mboweni, like many other people across the world took to Twitter to pay his tribute.
The South African former minister of finance on his Twitter account shared a picture of Queen Elizabeth. And he went on to caption the said picture as follows “Long live Her Majesty, the Queen”
However, the remarks of the former South African finance minister has prompted the prominent member of the ANC, Tony Yengeni to remind Tito Mboweni about what the history of the British aristocracy.
Tony Yengeni who, is the member of National Executive Committee of the ANC responded to Tito Mboweni’s tweet as follows:
“British aristocracy has presided over boundless and bloody extermination of indigenous natives all over the world”
However, there is some serious indication that the discourse around the world will mainly center around the untimely death of Queen Elizabeth.
