THUSO MBEDU’S LATEST BIG PROJECT
While details about the project are still emerging, we do know a few things for certain already. For starters, Thuso Mbedu will be starring alongside American actor, Mark Ruffalo who will be the lead of the series. As well as that, we’ve also learned that the series will be true crime drama that will see Mbedu taking on the role of Aleah, a Sergeant Detetive who will be recruited for a task force that is set to assist the FBI in finding the ring leader behind a series of drug-house roberries.

This is set to be Thuso Mbedu’s first role in an American crime drama, following her starring roles in the film, The Woman King and the Amazon series, Underground Railroad.

PROUD TO BE STARRING AS A BLACK WOMAN
Thuso Mbedu has also come out to explain how glad she is to be representing black women on the big stage. Speaking about its importance to The Cut she said, “I think what makes me feel most beautiful is being appreciated and acknowledged and recognized for the color and the shade of my skin. A couple of years ago, I made a decision that brown should be one of my favorite colors because of the different shades that it comes in.”

The 31-year-old actress also added, “With every Black woman that you see, there’s just something about their tone that can’t be replicated, so when I’m being embraced for looking the way that I look, [I feel most beautiful]. From the malleability of our hair, to our personalities, to how we’re able to welcome people and make them feel like they belong.”
