Idols South Africa season 18 commenced in July, the search for the next South African Idol is underway. This season seems to be bringing mzansi the most amazing talent. However there will always be disputes on who makes it to the top 16 while this year its only the top 12.

Judges were informing contestants on who made it to the first live show, however this year there can only be 12 contestants who qualify. The Top 12 are Robyin, Nozi, Kabelo, Ty loner, Mpilwenhle, Noxolo, Nandi, hope, Lerato, Zee, Thapelo, and CeejJay.

 

 

 

 

 

While most people were happy for the top 12 others weren’t so impressed. People complained of Donda and Dudlu not being part of the top 12.

Dudlu delivered a mind blowing perfomance on the first week of theatre week. Although Donda messed up on the duet week however truth be told he had a wonderful voice.

Some people feel that since Nandi’s father was in Sarafina then that might have scored her a seat in the top 12 however musically she’s the weakest link. This could be said about Robyn she perfomed a Lebo Mathosa song which is sentimental to the idols judges.

However this is a show and there are many criteria they look for. The show has been losing viewership, perharps they need to start listening to the viewers and give the people what they want. People are now signing a petition to have the Mpumalanga born singer back on the show.

Nextweek Sunday will be the first live show and mzansi will get to vote for their favourite to keep them on the show.
