They are too old. Mzansi is unimpressed with the premiere episode of the real housewives of cape town

Mzansi is unimpressed with the premiere episode of The Real Housewives of Cape Town, calling it a dull watered-down version of the other shows.

The show premiered on Sunday, 10th of July, on Mzansi Magic and trended immediately.

Fresh from the Real Housewives of Lagos, viewers quickly compared the show to all the shows, including the first two, The Housewives of Johannesburg and Durban, and they felt the show was found wanting.

Social media thinks the ladies are too old. Below are some of the comments:

“I know a Retirement home when I see one #RHOCT.”

“It’s giving Rich mothers of Cape Town more than housewives.”

The second complaint was that the episode was filled with a load of nothing. Viewers feel like there was no storyline.

We were first taken through the introduction of the Ladies

Camilla (The psychic) McDowell. She calls herself the Queen of Constantia.

Loveline Abinokhuno AKA Mrs Leo or Momfluencer. Married with four kids and owns an events company called LA Price concierge and events

Beverly Steyn is a divorcee and entrepreneur who loves the soft life and isn’t afraid to show off.

Thato Montse is a wine maker and the creator of Thato wines.

Kutazwa Rooksy Gqirana owns Style Boutique SA.

Lulwando Lue Tukwayo is a digital creator, Property Entrepreneur and mother of three.

Money can’t buy authenticity.
The viewers wondered why the show didn’t premiere at Showmax as all the Housewives shows previously, and they concluded that it was since the standard of this particular show was low.

Social media felt something was a bit off even though the ladies brought their Ferraris and Rolls Royces.

“😂😂

It doesn’t deserve Showmax Le Moja Love was okay for these 😂🤣

They lack that “THING” one fan wrote.

A fight broke out between Rooksy and Loveline and confused a lot of viewers because it didn’t make sense. Loveline said Rooksy betrayed her because she kept information about joining the show from her. These two have a friendship before the show.

Cheap Masks, cheap wigs

Loveline was hosting a masked party to get everyone to know each other, and the viewers also brought up the masks they were wearing. The masks were uncomfortable and looked cheap. The ladies held the masks to keep them from slipping off their faces because the elastic having them was not firm.

Thato kept drinking the whole show, and her English was also brought forward as a concern.

“I am your ride to die” 😂😂😂I love Thato for botching English.”

Some saw the silver lining, though.

“I don’t care what you posers say #RHOCT is a VIBE!!!!” one viewer said.

Avid fans of the franchise noted that the first episodes are not great but that it gets better as the show progresses.

Some viewers have already pointed out those who will bring in the drama more, and Thato’s name is the one making the rounds more. The second one is Camille.

Maybe the show will pick up momentum with the upcoming episodes
