On his Instagram account, Bongi broke his silence after a difficult week following accusations levelled by England player Tom Curry.
In it, he posted pictures of him being led off the field following an injury by New Zealand player Shannon Frizell. He also posted pics of him lifting the Rugby World Cup trophy alongside his teammates.
In one of the pics, a defiant message read: “11-12. Springboks made a point”, referring to the SA’s one-point winning score.
Bongi captioned the pic with an emoji of a trophy and the South African flag.Just hours earlier, the 34-year-old posted a video of a “war cry” in the build-up to the Boks vs All Blacks game.
In the comments section, followers – including fellow Springbok Ox Nche – praised Bongi’s bravery and endurance.
