Kelly Khumalo’s name is all over the news and this comes after the trial of the perpetrators who are alleged to have murdered him, ex-boyfriend, Senzo Meyiwa resumes, and it was reported two weeks ago that the singer had hired a watching brief lawyer so that she could obtain knowledge of what was happening in the trial and what might be the outcomes since lawyers understand cases of this nature.
It was announced by News24.com today that her lawyer, Mr Magdalene Moonsamy, had been excused from the courtroom right before the trial could begin by prosecutor George Baloyi, and it is alleged that the reason for the lawyer’s expulsion is that Kelly Khumalo could be required to be a state witness in the coming days.
I think it is reasonable news that her watching brief has been discarded so that when she testifies she will tell the truth because she will be scared that any contradictory information before the judge might land her in prison since lying under oath is a punishable crime. If there is a person with testimony about what happened that night that is vital enough to lead to the sentence of the real killer, it is Kelly Khumalo, and I believe her testimony will be a game-changer.
The time is now for Kelly to give the former Bafana-Bafana and the buccaneers the final gift of love by sending his killer to prison for the act of evil they committed that night.
Do you think Khumalo will give enough testimony to give perpetrators a free ticket to where the sun doesn’t shine? Leave your thoughts in the comment column below.
