The reason behind ex-Rhythm City actor Mduduzi Mabaso (Suffocate’s) viral look revealed

South African award-winning actor Mduduzi Mabaso is known for his on-screen character of Suffocate Ndlovu on e.tv’s canned soapie Rhythm City.The Rhythm City actor has been trending for his latest role in BET_Africa’s latest telenovela, Queendom.

Mabaso transformed into an “older looking man” for his new character, Prince Andile Khahlamba, in Queendom. His “new look” is different to the “charming” e.tv character Suffocate Ndlovu in Rhythm City.Sunday World reports that Queendom will also star The River actresses Linda Mtoba and Sindi Dlathu. The duo played stepmother and stepdaughter Lindiwe and Nomonde Dikana in The River.

The publication adds that Mabaso won the Golden Horn for his role as Suffocate at the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) in 2009.

He’s also starred in Zone 14, A Place Called Home, Yizo Yizo 2, Justice For All 4, Soul City, Heartlines: Grace and Chicken Biznis.

Mabaso also briefly starred in S3’s canned telenovela The Estate as Khulekani Nzimande alongside Jo-Anne Reyneke.
