Maphumulo’s mother, Zamanguni, passed away at Wentworth Hospital in KwaZulu-Natal at 11pm on Sunday. She was admitted to hospital after suffering a stroke three days following the musician’s burial less than a month ago.

This is such a sad reality especially after their family has been through, ZamaNguni was aged 64, and the news of her death was confirmed by Mampintsha’s sister Pinky.

Mampintsha’s sister Pink revealed that her mother died around 10 pm, and before her death, she had requested to see Sponge, her grandson. However, her last wish could not be fulfilled as Sponge was with his mother, Babes Wodumo, at her place. Talking to the news reporters, Pinky said;

From this we can learn that strokes can actually be hereditary, Genetic factors likely play some role in high blood pressure, stroke, and other related conditions. Several genetic disorders can cause a stroke, including sickle cell disease. People with a family history of stroke are also likely to share common environments and other potential factors that increase their risk.
