Load shedding has been a part of the lives of South Africans for over a decade now, of all the years that the country has experienced load shedding, this years has been the worst. The hours of the the electricity blackouts are more that the previous years.

18 year-old Unakho Kewana was badly affected by load shedding. The Cape Town teenager relied on an electricity-powered oxygen supply to stay alive.
She sadly passed away from lung failure, she died at Cecilia Makiwane this past week after a long term with lung complications.
According to the source, Unakho also suffered from depression and her family believes that the depression is caused by electricity. Unakho got stressed and anxious everytime electricity went off and allegedly hated being rushed to the hospital for oxygen support every time the power cuts, or load shedding would reach their area.
Unakho appealed to the nation to help her with a solar-powered oxygen supply in order for her to beat power cuts.
“The electricity power cuts destroyed her soul” her aunt Ntombizanele said.
Load shedding is negatively affecting many people’s lives.
