The memorial service of slain rapper Kiernan Forbes, also called AKA

Preparations ahead of AKA’s Memorial service at the Sandton Convention Centre are going according to plan. Amongst the people expected at the service are industry colleagues including Moozlie, Sizwe Dlomo, Anati, Yanga Chief and Oskido. #RIPAKA

@akaworldwide African Hip Hop artist Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes will be laid to rest this Friday, his family has confirmed.

His family has also expressed their gratitude to friends and fans of the slain artist, who died a few days ago alongside his friend and former manager Motsoane. They were gunned down outside a popular eatery on Durban’s Florida Road, South Africa on Friday evening.

Kiernan wasn’t just loved by us as family, but by a nation, as we’ve seen from loved ones, friends, industry colleagues, media tributes and the Megacy,

AKA’s memorial will be open to the public and streamed online.

The memorial service will take place on Friday at 3pm at the Sandton Convention Centre, South Africa.

There will be a private funeral where AKA will be laid to rest, on Saturday, 18th February.

A huge signage has been set up in South Africa , in respect and celebration of the rapper’s life. He died at the age of 35.
