The Amapiano genre took South African music industry by storm when it emerged some time ago. Within a short space of time, the Amapiano genre became the dominate music genre in South Africa. To the extent that, in 2021, South African music lovers cannot speak about South African music without literally mentioning the Amapiano genre.

Here is the screenshot of Kabza De Small’s tweet:

So many artists have been produced within the Amapiano. The genre is expanding very rapidly. And as a result thereof, the style of play is fast changing. Initially, the Amapiano music used to be dominated by songs which didn’t have vocalists. However, in recent years, many South African vocalists have been featured quite a lot in most of the latest songs.

There is some indication that the Amapiano genre will dominate South African music for quite some time. It must be remembered that music also moves with the times. There was a point in time South African music history, when people thought only Kwaito genre will remain the dominate music genre. However, over time, we saw new music genres coming to see the light of day. Admittedly, at this point in time, the Amapiano is the fastest growing music genre in South Africa. No one can deny the fact that the Amapiano music genre is growing exponentially. For many years, people will keep on hearing a great deal about Amapiano.
