2020 has been a dreadful year for most people, but not for South African musician Master KG. The man has enjoyed great success ever since he released the hit track Jerusalema. The song had transcended international borders and even had Hollywood celebrities doing the popular steps to the catchy track.
2. Mapara A Jazz’s John Vuli Gate featuring Gaz and Colano
This song became popular when the original video was posted by TikTok user @simpearl2, who had created a choreographed routine to the song. Thereafter, one video, in particular, showed a group of women dancing to the song outside of a petrol station, with one of the ladies catching the attention of Twitter. The young woman, dressed in a leather skirt and black turtle neck, showed an uncanny resemblance to media personality and model, Faith Nketsi. The song then saw everyone mimicking the routine and went on to be a viral hit. 3. Sho Madjozi’s John Cena
The Limpopo-born rapper released her hit song earlier this year, titled John Cena. The inspiration behind the song, wrestler-turned-actor John Felix Anthony Cena himself, had thereafter given the new track a thumbs up! The song ended up being played on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and even got Sho invited to The Kelly Clarkson Show where she met the man himself!

Cassper Nyovest’s BongNkosi featuring Zola 7 Rapper Cassper Nyovest, has released his track Bonginkosi, from his fifth studio album “Any Minute Now” (AMN) as the first single from his long-awaited project. Cassper featured Zola 7 on the track, and it has been getting rave reviews from his fans. The song saw the unexpected collaboration between the pair, which Cassper has stated as a dream come true.

Pretoria born rising star Elaine has joined one of the biggest record labels in the world, Columbia Records. This was brought about by her hit single which instantly made her a household name, “You’re the one” now has over 2,7 million views on YouTube and although released in 2019, definitely picked up speed in 2020.
