Police arrested the 27-year-old man on Friday, 11 September and he was charged with murder.

Two other suspects, aged 24 and 29, were also arrested for the unlawful possession of a firearm believed to have been used in the murder.

Thandeka died on Saturday, 5 September after she was shot at her home.

According to the police they were informed that Thandeka heard a squabble between her brother and two men.

She allegedly went out to investigate what was happening.

The suspect snatched a firearm from his friend and shot her.

The two suspects fled the scene. The three suspects will appear at the Evander Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 14 September.

Thendeka will be buried today in Evander.
