Thabo Bester’s expensive style has landed some prison officials in trouble.

On Tuesday 8 August last week, convicted murderer and rapist Thabo Bester and his lover Dr Nandipha Magudumana made their first court appearance together. As usual, their appearances stirred many social media reactions. Bester in particular found himself at the top of trend lists after he showed up in court wearing a Louis Vuitton T-shirt valued at approximately R15 000.


 

 

 

Social media users questioned the fact that he was in civilian clothing while questioning the price of said clothes. And now reports reveal that the prison officials in charge of Bester have landed in hot water because if this.

Social media users were left positively buzzing after “Facebook rapist” Thabo Bester and his disgraced celebrity doctor girlfriend Nandipha “Dr Nandi” Magudumana appeared together in court.

Bester, who usually makes his court appearances wearing Nike, opted for a Louis Vuitton t-shirt which cost between R12 and R15k on some retail stores.

While the authenticity of the sweater cannot be ascertained, he is said to be worth millions after running a successful media company from behind bars.

Photos of him in his luxury tee rubbed many the wrong way and soon it was a trending topic.

And now it has been reported that the prison officials who allowed the convicted rapist to wear the pricey item to court are in hot water.

Correctional Services Commissioner Makgoth Samuel Thobakgale told eNCA’s Dr JJ Tabane that he had previously warned both Bester and the officials in charge of wearing clothes that “undermined the criminal justice system”.

He also added that the said officials are now facing disciplinary action.
