Teffo Asks Why Kelly Khumalo Has Not Been Charged For Meyiwa’s Murder

Advocate Malesela Teffo who is representing the four accused in the murder of Senzo Meyiwa is back in court where he is questioning why Kelly Khumalo and the other individuals who were in the house when Meyiwa was murdered, have not been charged.

 
Teffo outlines the names of those he feel should be charged including Kelly Khumalo’s mother, sister, Longwe Twala and Senzo Meyiwa’s two friends.

The state has however not been able to give a clear explanation as to why those who were with Senzo Meyiwa have not been charged in connection to his murder.

This case has dragged for a very long time, and those who want to see justice being served argue that the failure to prosecute Kelly Khumalo and others who were in the house is travesty of justice to Meyiwa’s family.

Advocate Malesela Teffo wants to know why the state has not charged Kelly Khumalo, her mother and sister, as well as Longwe Twala and Meyiwa’s two friends, Tumelo Madlala and Mthokozisi Thwala. The six were in the house when Meyiwa was killed.

When the trial started earlier this year, the court heard that there are two dockets in this case, the one with the four accused who are in police custody, and the other with Kelly Khumalo and those who were in the house when Senzo Meyiwa was killed.

The second docket with Kelly Khumalo’s name is said not to have sufficient details, and the state argues that’s why they are not charging her and the other individuals who are in the house.

Today’s court hearing is about jurisdiction and the issue of two dockets in the Senzo Meyiwa’s case.
